The mission of Werk Weld Inc. is to manufacture high quality, American-made livestock feeding equipment that is built to last. We strive to create lasting customer relationships that endure beyond the sale. Founded on faith, family, and three generations of leadership.
In 1982, Darold and Mary Werkmeister established Werkmeister Welding and Repair to offer reliable equipment welding and repair services for local farmers. Darold’s wife, Mary, did all the book keeping, finances, and office management - and occasionally helping weld in the shop - reflecting the family values that continue to shape the business today. In 1995, the company expanded by acquiring and innovating the TAG creep feeder product line, improving it’s durability and establishing a reputation for quality livestock feeding equipment. In 1997 Darold’s Son, Kevin joined the business helping grow sales and operations, as the family continued to build the company together.
2005-2015
In 2007, the company opened a new 19,500 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, followed by an expansion in 2012 to meet increasing demand. The company’s sales strategy evolved during this period, growing it’s dealer network and establishing distribution partners to support continued expansion. In 2008, the business rebranded from Werkmeister Welding and Repair to Werk Weld Inc. In 2014, Kevin assumed ownership of the company, while his brother, Jim, joined the team full time as a head engineer and partial owner, continuing the family’s commitment to innovation, quality, and customer service.
2015-Present
The company continued it’s growth with a expansion up to 40,000 sq. ft. in 2015, increasing production capacity to better serve customers. In 2019, Kevin’s son, Koby, joined the business part time, before transitioning to a full time role in 2026, representing the third generation of family leadership. In 2023 Alex, son of Jim Werkmeister, start part-time with the company, as well as his other son, Jace, in 2024. Today, Werk Weld is proudly veteran-owned and operated and remains committed to manufacturing American-made livestock equipment built to last, backed by personalized service, lasting customer relationships, and support that extends well beyond the sale.
